Rules

I have noticed a lot of negative attitude around here lately, I think that even Brian will agree with me here. Everyone seems to be bickering at someone else, and quite honestly it makes us look REALLY bad to new potential members. That said, I have come up with a few rather simple rules for you guys in hopes that we can find a little more respect for each other.

I don't mind all of the bullshitting that occurs around here, I have just noticed that some members do not know where the line is...

All right, here we go.

Respect other members, admins, and moderators (yah, we have those).

Keep threads on topic, there's an off topic section for a reason.

Limit the number and size of images, I'll leave this for you to determine.

Search.

Some rules for the Buy/Sell/Trade section.

Post a price, end of discussion. If you want to host an auction put your stuff on eBay.

No eBay links without a But It Now price, see rule 1.

If you don't agree with what someone is wanting for their item, PM them an offer.

After your item is sold, please update your thread, we will close threads after a month.

Please try to place your thread in the right section.

Now, heres what happens if you go around "acting a fool".

You get a warning along with a timeframe to edit your own post.

We edit your post for you, or delete it as necessary.

If you continue to be disrespectful your posting privileges will be revoked for one day.

If you continue after this, your account will be suspended for three days.

After this you will be banned (I really, really, really don't want to have to do this).

Number1187svt In The Running For Focus Fanatics Rotm

Our very own Number1187SVT is the running for ride of the month on Focus Fanatics. Jacob will have to confirm (cause I know he was keeping track), but if Nathan wins it would be the 4th Texas Foci to receive ROTM this year. If this was California that would be no big deal, but since Texas is the land of the lifted truck and the donk (eww) have this many modded Foci that are good enough to win is really cool.

Good luck Nathan. I voted for you, as I hope that everyone else on here does.

Link back to original thread started by Nathan
Vote for November ROTM at Focus Fanatics

Ford Escort May Return As 100mpg Hybrid

What would it take for Ford to get you interested in a new Escort? In its heyday, the Escort was quite popular, but managed to build up a bundle of negative brand equity. In less than three years, Ford reportedly hopes to woo Escort buyers back with a 100 mpg plug-in hybrid model. Numbers like that would certainly get some interest, and give competitors like GM's Volt and Toyota's Prius plenty to think about. And if the 2011 Escort looks anything like the renderings on Next Energy News, it should be able to make lots of money for Ford.

According to the report at Next Energy, the new Escort would be a single mode hybrid more like Toyota's drivetrain instead of the dual-mode system GM and Chrysler are developing. But the new car would be a brand new platform for Ford, and wouldn't be built using another company's proven hybrid system.

Ford's hybrid would likely utilize A123 Systems nanophosphate lithium-Ion batteries, which are also being used by the Saturn Aura and Chevy Volt.

Link to Autoblog Article

Well, I am one of the people that the article mentions that has a negative view of the Escort brand. They were boring, and with the exception of the ZX2s they were very slow. I do like the Rendering though, I think it is definitely one of the best designs based on the European "Energy" design.

Again, comment away.

Ford Mondeo Xr5 Turbo

American drivers haven't had a special high-performance sedan offering from Ford since the demise of the Contour SVT and it doesn't look like we'll get one anytime soon. Fortunately, overseas buyers don't have that problem. Besides the pleasure of having the standard Mondeo, it looks like they will soon have a XR5 Turbo version to choose from. This one is expected to be propelled by a five-cylinder turbo sourced the Swedish side of the family at Volvo. It could be a fun combination. Head over to CarAdvice.com.au for more pics of the XR5.

Link to Autoblog Article

Well shit on us some more. For those of you wishing for a Fusion SVT this is even better. The new Mondeo is DAMN hot, and with the Focus ST's Inline-5 turbo engine this new car will be a hot seller. If the last gen Mondeo STs are any indication it will also be very exclusive, with a limited run of 1000 cars or less.

Comment away.

Focus Fanatics Rotm

The polls are open on the September Ride of the Month voting on Focus Fanatics. SaleenS121, a dedicated member here is in the running, and I think that if we all support him as we did with TexasFoci members in the past we can make him the 4th Texan ROTM in 5 months. This would be quite an achievement. Who you vote for is of course your choice, I just request that you give more consideration to SaleenS121.

Thanks guys for making Texas the home of some of the best Foci around.

Vote for September ROTM

Frankfurt Motor Show: Ford To Reveal Refreshed Focus

QUOTE

The Frankfurt Motor Show is turning into one hell of an event, with a metric ton of new vehicles set for an official unveiling. Ford intends to get in on the act, as we know the Blue Oval is unveiling the new Fiesta Verve Concept, and now it looks like a refreshed Focus is on the way as well. The Lehmann spy photo team caught a well disguised Focus in testing, but plenty of styling changes lie beneath. The refreshed Focus should carry more Mondeo-like Kinetic Design styling queues in the front fascia and headlights, and on the inside the center stack will be more C-Max-like. As we told you last week, Ford will also unveil their new ECOnetic diesel technology for the Focus. The oil-burning powerplant will achieve 65.7 MPG while curbing carbon pollution to a class-leading 115g/km CO2 reading.

We don't know too much about the updated Focus yet, but we're guessing it will look better than the US Focus that was redesigned for 2008. We do know, however, that Frankfurt is fast turning into one heck of a show.

Not sure how I feel about the refresh on the MK.2. I think that the original front end looks much better, but thats my opinion.
